The Retail Analytics Sales report displays your sales at the ASIN level across a desired date range. You can also view the sales by EAN and other model numbers for the corresponding ASIN.

The Retail Analytics Sales report displays your sales at the ASIN level across a desired date range. You can also view the sales by EAN and other model numbers for the corresponding ASIN.

You can access the report by logging into Vendor Central → Reports → Retail Analytics → Sales.

The Retail Analytics Sales report helps you understand how well your individual products are performing in terms of key metrics like the number of units ordered, the number of units shipped, the total ordered revenue, total returned units, and the shipped Cost of Goods Sold (shipped COGS).

Understanding the available sales metrics

Before you use the Retail Analytics Sales report, it is important to understand the various metrics it makes available.

  1. Ordered units: This is the total number of units ordered by customers, adjusted for returns and cancellations.
  2. Ordered revenue: This is the total revenue generated by customer orders, adjusted for returns and cancellations.
    Ordered revenue takes into account the price of the products and the number of ordered units. The formula is: Ordered Revenue = Price * Ordered Units.
  • Shipped units: This denotes the quantity of units shipped to the customers.
  • Shipped revenue: This is the total revenue generated by customer orders at the time of shipment. The formula is: Shipped Revenue = Price * Shipped Units.
  • Shipped COGS / Product Cost of Goods Sold: Product Cost of Goods Sold is the price that Amazon has paid the vendor to procure the item.
  • Customer returns: The number of units that are returned by the customers.

How to Leverage this Reports

When you visit the Retail Analytics Sales report in your Amazon console, you can narrow down your sales data according to the following filters:

  1. Time frame: View ASIN-level metrics across your desired time frame. You can select a “daily” view that provides these metrics for a specific day, or you can choose monthly, quarterly, or yearly time frames.

    You can also narrow down the data across a period of the last X number of weeks/months. Or you can select year-to-date or month-to-date filters to better understand trends in your data.
  2. Distributor view: Use this filter to access your sales data separately for a manufacturing view (which is available only to manufacturers) versus the sourcing view (which is available to everyone).
  3. Program view: This filter is particularly useful if you are enrolled in different supply chain programs.
  4. Additional filters: You can also organize data in the Retail Analytics Sales report by:
    A) Multiple ASIN: Normally, the sales dashboard gives you metrics for individual ASINs. But if you want to see data for multiple ASINs at once, you can do this through the ASIN filter. Amazon lets you view up to 100 ASINs at the same time.

    B) Comparison mode: Once you have selected your desired time frame, you can create a year-over-year comparison of your sales data. For example, you can compare Easter 2023 vs. Easter 2022 or Q1 2023 vs. Q1 2022.

    C) Currencies: Sales data in this report is available by default in the local currency. If you wish to see the sales performance in your preferred currency (example: USD), select the desired currency in this filter.
