The problem:
The e-commerce agency Conduit Brands has always prided itself on its scrappiness and agility. The agency’s two cofounders, Matt Poli and Debra Hoffman, handle all client relations themselves.
That intimate touch ensures that Conduit is giving top-quality service to its clients—but it also places a premium on efficiency.
To more quickly manage client performance, the company wanted to build a single, auto-refreshing dashboard that could “take the mess that is Amazon data and get the story quickly,” said Matt Poli, founding partner and president of Conduit Brands.
Conduit wanted to see everything in one place: data on detail page organic & paid traffic, conversation rates, Buy Box performance, unit sales, price, dollar sales, media spend, and media TACOS for every client on its roster.
And the company wanted all of this data available at a glance, in real-time.
To build such a powerful dashboard, Conduit turned to our in-house team of experts, Intentwise Analytics Services.
The solution:
Poli and Hoffman had some inkling of what they wanted this dashboard to look like when they started to work with the Intentwise Analytics Services team, but our experts helped take it to the next level.
At every juncture, the Intentwise team asked questions that helped turn a rough concept into something that exceeded even Conduit’s vision. “What I appreciated about the team is they were able to draw out my needs when I couldn’t take the visualization in my mind and explain it to them,” Poli said.
Before working with Intentwise, Conduit had tried to create a dashboard like this of its own. It was painstaking to maintain. The team was manually downloading reports from Amazon and uploading them into Excel.
Now, with Intentwise’s help, that dashboard of client performance refreshes automatically. We pipe in the data using APIs. Conduit doesn’t even have to think about it.
With the Intentwise dashboard, time savings are immense. “It probably returns us 20%to 25% of our time a week,” Poli said.
Plus, the Intentwise dashboard contains all measured KPIs integrated and reported in real-time seamlessly.
The dashboard has become instrumental not just for reporting performance back to clients but also for Conduit internally to evaluate performance swings.
Conduit uses it to track traffic and conversions, manage budgets, and improve ad performance. Having the historical data summarized in a scorecard format makes annual business planning much more efficient.
These days, Poli looks at the dashboard every week to track the big-picture trends across all client accounts, as well as on a daily basis to dig into and grab data to validate an insight. “It’s my digital bible,” he said.
