For brands and agencies alike, there\u2019s certainly a lot of appeal to DSP: Amazon DSP ads can now reach Spotify, Netflix, and a whole host of other platforms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We wrote about this new, supercharged era of DSP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intentwise.com\/blog\/amazon-dsp\/amazon-dsps-next-phase\/\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through DSP ads, you can get premium placements for your ads pretty much anywhere people engage with content.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem with using DSP, however, is that it often comes with tedious functionality. The sophistication of these campaigns means there\u2019s also a lot of back-end technical work required to maintain them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, we\u2019ll talk through one simple hack for a time-consuming DSP feature: flight management.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-a-dsp-flight\"><strong>What is a DSP flight?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A flight meters out how much money you\u2019re going to spend over a given time period. It\u2019s a budget that you can set across a specific time range, on the Order level.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flights let you get granular with your budget, while avoiding overspending.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a great tool within DSP. But the problem is that flight creation and tracking is a heavily <em>manual<\/em> process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For instance, many brands and agencies set up flights on a monthly basis. That means you have to set up a new flight for the new time period manually every month, across every single DSP Order.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can become tedious work quickly, and it\u2019s especially frustrating when you\u2019re ultimately only making minimal changes to your flights from one period to another.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other difficulty of flight management is that it is difficult to track, at a glance, how your flights are running.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your flight is only viewable when you click into an Order in your DSP account, which means you need to constantly click in and out of Orders to check their progress.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is fine if you only have one or two Orders running, but many heavy spenders on DSP have a lot more than that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agencies in particular probably have dozens and dozens of Orders to sort through at once, across many client accounts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If it feels like there has to be an easier way, well, there is.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-do-you-streamline-the-flighting-process-nbsp\"><strong>How do you streamline the flighting process?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s where a software solution like Intentwise comes in.
